Sprinkler time fun!!!

Since Grant just got ear tubes we thought a sprinkler would be better than a baby pool this year. Boy were we right! He loved it! He was a little hesitant at first and stood in place while the water continuously soaked him...but with a little help from Kirk he was soon running through the water. A big thanks to Kirk for sacrificing his work shoes and clothes to play with Grant.

*Remember: You cannot run around without shoes in Houston. There can be fire ants any time of year!

Our Spring Break Louisiana Trip!

Sorry people! I do not blog in the order things actually occur in real life. We went to visit Kirk's sister's family in Louisiana in the middle of March. We had a really nice time and only wish that we could have stayed a little longer....maybe this summer??? Enjoy the slide show!

A Busy Spring Saturday!!!

Well...today was a pretty exciting and full day for the family...epecially Grant! Today the city where we live was having an Easter hunt and I thought it might be fun to take our little boy and try something different. When we got there it seemed like everyone in the whole city with a kid was there. Grant was in the 0-2 age category and the parents, of course, got to help. Kirk told me to let Grant pick up the eggs by himself, but that was a big mistake. He was so slow that he only got three eggs. All the crazy parents were picking them up for their kids like crazy! It was basically a huge stampede of parents! I guess I wasn't aggresive enough. O-well...there is always next year. Grant had a fun time anyway and met the Easter bunny and HEB Buddy.




Later the same day, Grant also attended a birthday party for his good friend Miller. Miller's parents always throw the best parties, so we were really excited! They had a petting zoo, pony rides, and a whole bunch of toys to play with. Here are some of Grant's favorite moments.



Hopefully Grant will sleep in a little bit tomorrow!!! We can only hope!

Bathroom Makeover

A brand new Target just opened up pretty close to my house...so I thought...why not redo Grant's bathroom. (Brand new Target...that can be very dangerous!!!) We finally moved him out of his baby bathtub (way over due...btw)and upstairs to his own bathroom. I was nervous that he wouldn't like his big tub, because he never seemed to have a problem with his baby tub...but he loved it. I even bought him some foam letters/numbers that he can stick on the walls and he loves putting them up and taking them down. I don't know if he appreciates the monkeys or not, but I thought they were pretty dang cute!

My "Big Papa" and Valentine's Day

Well...Grant is developing quite the reputation at day care these days. They tell me he is the heaviest kid in the class and the best eater. I don't know if I should be really proud of these things...but I am! My boy is so cute! One of his teachers has taken to calling him "Big Papa". Apparently he loves repeating the word papa and it cracks him up when they call him that.

Also...here are some pictures from his Valentine's Day party at school. It was mostly a junk food festival of fun. I think he enjoyed it though. He is not smiling in the pictures since he wanted to leave as soon as we showed up. He is a creature of habit. :)

By the way...I made the cupcakes!!! (Such the homeroom mother...not!!! ps...Kirk iced the cupcakes - he made me put that in)

Garage sale treasures!

Every now and then I like to participate in some bargain basement shopping...garage sales! I don't hit them up every weekend, but if I pass one and I think I might see something I need I will stop and rummage around. Lately, I have found some really cute things for my little Grant that I am quite proud of myself for finding. This blue car that he is sitting in is now one of his favorites. Everytime I bring him inside the house from the garage...we pass it and he almost jumps out of my arms to play with it. It is too cute! The slide behind him didn't come from a garage sale, but we did get it off Craigslist...another good buy! This past weekend I bought him a little lawn mover and baseball game and some board books in really great condition! Our house if full of toys...but it is amazing what you can buy for 5 bucks!!!
