A Memorial Day to remember!

On Monday we decided to go to Kemah and spend a few hours there. I was a little nervous about how Grant would behave...but he did really well! This picture is Grant eating at the Aquarium. The entire restaurant has a blue tint...so there was not a problem with the camera. That is just how it looks there. He ate so much that his stomach was pooching more than usual.

To our surprise, Grant also liked watching the fish. He didn't know what to make of them at first...but he eventually became fascinated. He was not too happy when I had to pry him away to change his diaper.

Outside the restaurant is one of those fountains that kids run through and the water sprays up randomly. We changed him in to his swim outfit and stuck him out there. He didn't want to leave his spot...but he had a blast. He eventually got way into it. Overall, it was a great day!!!

Good Read

I have realized for a long time that every post I have on my blog is about Grant. It is not that he isn't a worthy topic...but I thought it would be best to change it up a little bit for my many devoted readers (insert sarcasm, please). Besides playing and taking care of Grant, I also like to read.
One of the better books I have read recently is Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I don't usually read much non-fiction now that I am out of school, but this book was a real page-turner. This book talks about different circumstances that can make people successful and the circumstances are not always what you think they might be. Gladwell has an interesting way of looking at things that I don't always agree with...but can really make you think and question your own ideas. It is a quick read and I recommend it to everyone! 4.5 stars...I guess. :)

Sprinkler time fun!!!

Since Grant just got ear tubes we thought a sprinkler would be better than a baby pool this year. Boy were we right! He loved it! He was a little hesitant at first and stood in place while the water continuously soaked him...but with a little help from Kirk he was soon running through the water. A big thanks to Kirk for sacrificing his work shoes and clothes to play with Grant.

*Remember: You cannot run around without shoes in Houston. There can be fire ants any time of year!
