Happy Memorial Day!

I love this picture of the boys! They are getting so big, so fast! I love to watch them play and be silly together. People keep telling me they are going to start fighting like cats and dogs when they get older...but time keeps passing and they pretty much like each other most of the time...so I feel pretty lucky...for now. Lately playing in the backyard with the sprinklers and baby pool is pretty exciting for the boys! It's not glamorous...but they seem to find the most enjoyment in the simple things anyway. This picture was taken a few weeks back...because at the moment Luke is struggling with a nasty cold and teething...poor thing! Anyway...only a few more days until school's out!!! Yay!

Spring Break March 2012

For Spring Break, we decided not to go out of town and to try some of Houston's popular attractions. Overall, we had a really nice time spending time as a family, going to the rodeo, and to the zoo. We also enjoyed some time at the good 'ole homestead playing in the baby pool and washing the cars. Life doesn't get too much better than this!

At the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo...just a few pictures...

Kirk and Grant petting a fake horse. Like the Astrodome in the background!

Kiddos playing in the corn. They are learning all sorts of good stuff about agriculture.

Carnival Rides!!!

Luke update: 1 year old!

Well, our little Luke is now a 1 year old! Yayyy! Okay, his birthday was over a month ago...but at least I didn't skip it all together on the blog. We did have a nice little birthday party for him with just family. (If anyone needs Seasame Street decorations...let me know. Seriously.) Overnight, he seems to have transformed from a cute little baby to a very active toddler who is walking around every where and loves to play in the grass. He is now totally a walker...he hardly ever crawls at all. He says 4 words rather frequently: hi, bye, ball, and book. He loves balls! His face lights up whenever he finds one. As far as other favorites are concerned. He loves yogurt! He can't get enough of it. At his one year appointment he was almost 24 lbs and i think he was 30.25 inches. Luke has even had his first denist appointment and he did quite well. Here are some pictures from his party.
His cousins opened all of his presents...but Luke didn't mind.

Day trip to Kemah!

I love this time of year! When the weather's good...it's beautiful and nice to hang outside. Not too hot...not too cold...and not too many mosquitos yet! It makes me want to eat some food from the grill and watch the kiddos play outside. Well, last weekend the weather was so great we decided to take an unplanned trip to Kemah. I love Kemah! Good food, nice scenery, and plenty of kid things to do. Here are some of the pictures from this little day trip.

My Superheroes!

Grant is finally starting to get into superheroes which is kind of cute! He's not obsessed since I am pretty positive that he still likes sports better...but I love these pictures.

Even Luke likes to get in some of the fun!
Isn't Luke so adorable!!!

Christmas!

Christmas time this year was a lot of fun! This is the first year I think Grant understood some of what Christmas is all about and, of course, throw in a 2nd child and you double the fun.
We did many different things and I have pictures on 2 different cameras...but here's a sampling of some of what went on in our lives in December.
Grant's daycare had a Christmas concert. Grant learned all the verses to Frosty the Snowman and most of Silent Night...but unfortunately he got a little stage fright at the time of the performance.
Photo with Santa after the concert as their reward.
Grant made Christmas cookies. He really likes to help out in the kitchen.
Spent Christmas Eve with my parents and my older sister and her family. Grant loves to hang out with his cousins and Luke loves his Papo Carlos!

Christmas Day---very informal.
Isn't he a little cutie!!!
Going to church! I am bummed I didn't get a family picture...O-well
Having a blast with all of his loot!
Grant in front of the Christmas tree. Whenever we tell him to look cute, he puts his fist under his chin and gives a really cheesy smile. Cute boy!
Okay...maybe this will be the last picture....Visiting Santa at Bass Pro Shops. Luke was not happy about a strange man holding him!
Oh...here's a cute one of Kirk and Grant having dinner right before going to see Santa. This is the last picture...promise.
Happy late Christmas!!!

Grant's Birthday Party!!!

Well...it seems like I always forget to post pictures of Grant's birthday parties. This is a shame since I put so much time in planning something memorable and fun...and now...I can't remember what we did for Grant's 2nd birthday. This is really going to bug me. Hopefully it will come back to me soon. Anyway, for Grant's 3rd birthday I invited a few too many kids to our house and couple that with the full-size horse that my friend from school let us borrow...it was kind of crazy!
This year...we had Grant's 4th birthday party at Jump N Jungle. Great idea! Not much prep, kids had a great time, and the best part...no clean-up. Here are some of the pictures...

Momma and Lukie had a great time too!

Grant decided he wanted a football/sports themed party. At the time he was really into watching college football.

Some of Grant's daycare buddies. Some of them have been classmates since they were babies.

Overall, we all had a really fun time and now Grant is already placing requests for his next birthday parties all the way to age 18!!! It's kind of cute.

Luke's first hair cut!

Well...yesterday Luke had his first professional haircut! He has been blessed/cursed with really light and fluffy hair that likes stand straight up. It is really cute and it gets comments all the time from random strangers...but he is almost 1 and I thought we could try out a big boy haircut now. Here are the highlights... Before gel. After gel. Now his hair looks a lot more thin...but in a few weeks it should be really cute!
